Hey! Thanks for checking out my bio...and check out my BLOG by clicking HERE.

My name is Mercedes. Yes, it is my REAL name. My mom is Hungarian and my dad is Spanish and that’s what they came up with. If I was a boy, my name would have been Zoltan. Interesting, yes?

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and I went to school at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I got into radio while I was in college and I needed to do an internship. It was either Pharmacy or Radio and now I’m kicking myself for not going with Pharmacy. Kidding. I now take classes at UNLV. I have an identity crisis when it comes to supporting the Buffs or the Rebels.

I’ve been married to my amazing husband, Matt, since 2000 and I have the coolest daughter, Sophie. I’m a pretty lucky girl. I think it’s funny when little kids try to get your attention and they jump in place for what seems like forever. Sophie does that and I just watch her while she says, “Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!” Good times. Good cardio, too. In December of 2008, we welcomed the newest member to our family, a little girl named Brooklyn. We are having so much fun with her.

I love the New York Yankees and the Denver Broncos. I know more about sports than your average girl but I still have a feminine side. I have a huge purse collection and the Sephora and MAC stores tempt me to no end. That was a lie. They tempt me but I am able to find an end to that temptation. I could have just pressed backspace to delete that but, in my opinion, it’s easier to type than to press backspace.

My favorite font is Helvetica and my least favorite font is Courier. Seriously.

Girly girls make me laugh. Girls that say they want to be treated like a princess make me laugh, too. Other things that make me laugh include Lionel Richie’s hair, DJ’s that wear Hawaiian shirts or a sports jersey, the sight of a drunk David Hasselhoff eating a hamburger, the word “FANTASTIC!” and Jack Handey quotes. One of my favorite Jack Handey quotes is, “To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" you can say, "Sorry, got these sacks."

Other random facts/thoughts…

I know karate.

I sometimes tell people that I know karate to impress them, even though I don’t know the first thing about karate.

I was on Team Kristen when “Laguna Beach” was on.

I like to quote movies…”Negative, Ghostrider, the pattern is full.”

I stole the word “lurve” from Dane Cook but I always give him credit if I use it.

I lurve baseball. (Thanks, Dane.) I especially lurve the New York Yankees. (Thanks again, Dane.)

I’ve heard a lobster scream and it’s quite sad.

I cry for today's children for they will never experience the joy of Saturday morning shows like "Alvin and the Chipmunks," "Pee-Wee's Playhouse," and any episode of "Scooby-Doo" that had the Harlem Globetrotters on it.

That is all…
